What to Look For in a Tree Company
Ask for proof of liability and workers' compensation insurance before anyone steps on your property. If a crew can't produce it, you carry the risk when someone gets hurt or a limb goes through your roof.
Ask how the crew runs a job. Before rigging starts, the crew should brief everyone on the hazards and set up communication between the people aloft and the people on the ground. If a company can't describe that in a sentence or two, they probably don't do it.
Ask who hauls the debris. Some bids stop at the cut and leave the branches and wood in your yard. Get it in writing so you know what you're paying for.
Ways to Reduce What You Pay
Ask for an itemized bid. Removal, stump work, hauling and replanting are separate lines, and you can decide on each one.
Hauling trimmed branches and wood runs $75 to $250. If you burn wood or have somewhere to stack it, ask the crew to leave it and take that line off the bid.
Replanting runs $100 to $300 per tree. You don't have to do it the same day as the removal, so you can spread the cost out.
Get more than one bid, and compare them line by line. A low total often means a line is missing, usually cleanup.

What Happens on the Day
Move cars, patio furniture and anything breakable away from the work area. The crew marks the drop zone and keeps its own people out of it. You and your family should stay out too.
On a tall tree close to the house, we bring a crane. It lets us take the tree down in controlled sections instead of dropping them near your roof.
If the crew skips the hazard briefing or you can't tell who is talking to whom between the climber and the ground, ask about it before the saw starts.
Hanford Yards and What They Mean for the Work
About 62% of Hanford homes are owner-occupied and 38% are rented. If you rent, get your landlord's approval in writing before you book. Most tree companies won't start without it.
Storm exposure here is low, so most removals are not emergencies. You have time to get a few bids and pick a crew.
Our secondary soil series here is Lakeside, which is somewhat poorly drained. After a rain, the ground in low yards stays soft. Tell us if your yard holds water, and we'll plan where to put equipment, or schedule a drier day, so we don't tear up your lawn getting a heavy machine in and out.
What Comes Next After the Work
If you keep the stump, grinding takes it below ground level so you can seed or sod over it. It does not remove the roots, which stay underground and break down over time. Keep that in mind before you plan a garden bed or a new tree right on top of the spot.
If you replant, drainage matters in a yard with Lakeside soil. Ask which species handle wet ground and plant those, not whatever the nursery has in stock.

How It Works
-
Tell Us What You Need
Tell us what you need done and when — you'll get a straight answer, not a sales pitch.
-
We Walk the Job
We come out, look at the space, and confirm exactly what the job involves.
-
Know the Price First
You get the scope and the price in writing before any work starts. No surprises.
-
The Job, Done Right
We do the job right the first time, clean up after ourselves, and stand behind the work.
Depending on what we find, that can mean:
- If workers cannot maintain at least 10 feet from electrical lines, contact the utility to de-energize and ground them.
- For a heavy limb, make an underside notch cut, cut through the limb farther out to remove its weight, then remove the stub just outside the branch collar.
What It Typically Costs
Ranges to budget around - every situation is priced on its own specifics.
$450–$1450
$267–$494
